Bags of Grace is a ministry of love to the homeless and a simple way to assist those who are living on the streets of Austin. What is a A Bag of Grace? It is simply a one-gallon ziploc plastic bag filled with specific non-perishable food items and other basics we often take for granted. This is a tangible way we can make a small difference in the lives of others. |

Support the Salvation Army in the annual month of giving by ringing the Salvation Army Bell. Each year, The Salvation Army will serve more than 25 million people across America – including many here in your community. That means 55+ million meals for the hungry, 10+ million nights of shelter for the homeless, and countless Christmas gifts for children who may otherwise go without. So truly, you can make a difference with every ring. The funds you raise as a Salvation Army bell ringer will make a year-round impact in your community through social services assistance, homeless shelters, disaster relief, children’s programs, rehabilitation services, anti-human trafficking, and more. Donations in the red kettle stay local – directly impacting the lives of your neighbors by helping them in their time of need. When you ring the bell, you’re making change happen. |

Hill Country Bible Church will be hosting a Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event! Why a mobile packing event? Food assistance is a vital component in the process of transitioning individuals, families and communities out of chronic hunger and poverty and into self-sufficiency. "Hunger is the world's biggest solvable problem." – World Food Programme. We believe that food is the foundation for all other progress. To a starving child, hope can only truly begin once a reliable source of nutritious food has been established. FMSC produces three special MannaPack™ meal formulas developed by food scientists to specifically stop malnutrition. We believe Jesus Christ has called us to feed the hungry and serve those in need. · Feeding children in our community and around the world · Partnering with local churches, businesses, schools, civic orgs. · Encouraging 1,800+ volunteers to donate 2 hours of their time · Packing 300,000+ meals; that's enough to feed 800 kids a daily meal for an entire year! · Collecting food to restock the Reveal Resource Center (local community food bank). |

Dawn Lewis is a new member of the Rotary Club of South Austin, which she joined last Fall. She serves as the Executive Director of the TerraClear Foundation, securing funding and forging connections that enable Lao families to access clean drinking water. Dawn previously spent a decade as a teacher in Texas and authored the children’s book “My Teacher Moved to Laos,” which details life in that country, which is in SE Asia. Through her leadership, the TerraCare program has made a huge impact on vulnerable families by expanding access to clean drinking water in several countries. TerraCare provided 10,000 subsidized ceramic filters that brought clean drinking water to over 50,000 Laotians. Dawn’s commitment also extends to clean water projects in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. A Missouri native, Dawn holds a BS in Civil Engineering and an MA in Linguistics. She speaks English, French, and Lao. She enjoys time in nature and moments with her family, many of whom reside in Austin, Texas, which Dawn now calls home. |
